Managing Nonprofit Fundamentals

Class Description

Nonprofit professionals are responsible for managing nonprofit organizations according to IRS guidelines in order to retain the 501(c)(3) status. This class teaches nonprofit professionals how to implement the following three major nonprofit management functions:

Human Resource Management

    • determine the roles needed to offer services
    • recruit and hire team members
    • prepare team members for success
    • monitor team members’ performance

Financial management

    • write organizational and program budgets
    • create Form 990 Information Returns
    • create Revenue and Expense Reports
    • prepare financial statements for Board review

Image management

    • demonstrate financial transparency
    • demonstrate honesty and integrity
