The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) automatically revokes the 501(c)(3) status for all nonprofit organizations that fail to submit the appropriate Form 990 Information Return for three consecutive years.
Specifically, nonprofit leaders must submit the appropriate Form 990 Information Return on the 15th day of the fifth month after the fiscal year ends annually. If they fail to submit the report for three consecutive years, they will receive a letter notifying them that their 501(c)(3) status has been revoked (past tense).
The “How to REINSTATE 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organizations” class will teach you the four options the IRS provides to reinstate the 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. You will learn how the revocation happened, the long-term consequences, how to determine which reinstatement option is best for your nonprofit organization, and the steps to complete the reinstatement process.
